...now, subject to an inspection at the factory, belongs to me! Deposit Western Union transferred to Boshers' offshore accounts in Nigeria, and with a bit of luck I shall be driving around in the car by early May, once back from holiday.

A few questions:

- does the S2 have the delicate rose jointed suspension of the S1, or is it a more conventional setup?

- anyone know if you can get clear indicators to replace the oranges at the front?

- at 46k miles, what preventative maintenance could I be looking at? The clutch was replaced a few thousand miles ago, and the brakes look OK. Anything a bit random, like oil pumps or waterpumps etc?

- how do I get Boshly to clear the body out of the boot before giving me the car?

Impressions are that it's actually very different to my S1. Much more top-endy power delivery, which is odd, and a completely different sound - the muscle car burble of my car is replaced by a Harley Davidson-esque chatter from the sidepipes.

It feels more remote to drive (from a very short test drive) than my S1, with lighter, less nervous steering, lighter clutch and less clattering from the drivetrain - it feels like a more comfortable, less racy car. The S1 is definitely pointier and dartier, and less settled. Bosher's car is, however, undeniably fast. As it's going to be my only car (selling the other car, have joined Streetcar and the Classic Car Club instead), the comfort is a good thing.

It's clearly been loved, as at 46k miles, there isn't any slack in the steering or drivetrain at all. Feels just as tight and together as my old 23k mile car, which was also well loved and wanted for nothing, maintenance wise.

I've actually found a garage for the car, but could still use an outdoor cover. Could you chaps who have them let me know where you got them from, or the company that makeas them, please?

1) If I am not mistaken, all Aero products have the same suspension set up and I am yet to hear anyone have issues with it or refer to it as delicate (that is a new one for me and the years of TM being on the web!). What it is, is race car suspension and based on the intended purpose, it is anything but delicate!

2) No - haven't seen them but perhaps someone else will have found a source.

3) Having owned an Aero 8, you're pretty much up to speed already. The S1 had a few more niggles (power steering, roof) but these were sorted on the S2. These cars are bullet proof mechanically (engine, drivetrain, etc) and the only thing that needs keeping on top of is the regular servicing by a Morgan specialist (to ensure all the bolts, nuts, widgets, etc) are tight and as they should be. You can tell a car that hasn't had a proper service as it will feel loose and rattly. Whether a classic or an Aero, you can always tell when a car has been serviced by someone in the know as the owner will say, "it feels like it is new". A tight Morgan is a happy Morgan imho. Knowing Boshly's car and the fact he has factory serviced it (often with mid-intervals at Millers), I'd say you have nothing to worry about on the maintenance front. An inspection at the factory will confirm that.

4) Maybe this is where the extra BHP was coming from? A small elf pushing the car from behind!

Good luck with your purchase; it is a cracking example and one that I have spent a lot of time around. I will be sad to see it move on and hope it stays within the TM community.

Don't worry - I'll actually start turning up to TM events if I can...at the very least I'll be in here sporadically, so the car won't be lost in the ether!

You've gone off the olive green colour for the wrap?

I like the GT3 colour, but think that an exact match could be tricky. On the other hand, I think that non-metallic grey (as seen on the Morgan classic roadsters) could look pretty good...

The car cover is a stock Morgan item. Has the Morgan Logo on the Front.

As for your questions - you shouldn't have any preventative maintenance to worry about, just keep it serviced and keep an eye on the oil level basically.

There is a whole thread on here about the S2/S1 differences (from when I moved s1 to s2 a few years ago). The main bonus is that you have a rare example of a car with vents in the doors (nice feature, never repeated), and the interior is a lot more comfortable on a longer run than the series 1.

As shooter has said, ring the factory, I'm sure they will sell you a cover. For now I'm hanging on to mine in case the purchaser of the series 4 decides they want a cover to go with the car.
