Hi Rog, could you please put me down for a set too. The new leafs and AVO’s have calmed the back brilliantly on our 2011 4/4, this should be the icing on the cake.
Cheers John Thanks John got your message. I went down a similar road. Replaced my springs and fitted avo’s too. Knocked up my first set of bump stops after that. At least now my avo’s are on the lowest setting and my fillings don’t fall out quite so often Roger, Congratulations on this fantastic innovation along with its professional production and presentation. I am hearing great reports and I know John is looking forward to fitting a set. Well done that Man.....

Fitted my Bump Stops today, beautifully made items. All went well and really easy to fit (all you need is a 13mm and two 19mm spanners) the only thing that I had to do was file about 3mm off the tip of the shock eye gusset on the drivers side of the car where the hand brake bracket is so that it would clear that and sit at the correct angle as per Rogers instructions. It is easier to fit the Stop on that side, if you temporarily undo that handbrake fitting too. Once fitted I backed off my AVI shockers to 2 clicks from softest (previously on 6) then took it for a drive on an a pretty rough sort of a road and then down a faster road with a few bumps in it. When we got home and there was a witness mark around 10mm round, on each side in the Denso Tape that my springs are bound with. I’m not sure if that means that I need to up the shockers a click or wind the bump stops up a bit. Any thoughts? For your reference I set the bump stops at 33mm off the springs as recommended by Roger as a starting point, and I have new AVO shock absorbers all round, and fresh 4 seater, 4 leaf Springs. Did not feel the Bump Stops hit the springs at all, absolutely delightful drive. Brilliant bit of design and manufacture Roger, many thanks indeed.

Pleased you like them John and I think the first set fitted with 4 seater springs! When we got home and there was a witness mark around 10mm round, on each side in the Denso Tape that my springs are bound with. I’m not sure if that means that I need to up the shockers a click or wind the bump stops up a bit. Any thoughts? My thoughts but these bump assists are new and I’m no expert….. Ideally for max comfort the stops should be set as high as possible whilst still limiting the body movement enough to just prevent any body contact. That way it minimises the loads on the stops and hoop. I suspect every car might be different and it could take some time to optimise them if that were the goal. I think the shock setting is a personal choice once the suspension is constrained by the stops, just tune them for comfort or handling. Also the elastomer stops will be absorbing energy too so hopefully assisting the shocks a little. You may notice a subtle reduction in that annoying rear end jiggly motion on choppy roads.
