Actually my Mog colours have been: Corsa Red, Jaguar Racing Green, British Racing Green, Mint Green, Reflex Green, duo-tone Bentley Blues, Silver, Sport Blue, Rocket Red, and maybe another red!

My summary - Red = 3, Green = 4, Blue = 2, Silver = 1, quite a dispersion with no colour in the overall majority!

Your summary - Blue = 2, Silver = 1, 66% in the same colour. tongue2

How about a polished alloy body? I saw a pedal car at the factory like that and it looked great. Hate to think how much extra it would be though!

Would love a polished alloy body!

I asked if they would paint the fenders when ordering a bespoke color.

I was told no, they order the fenders in, and they are all black.
Seemed a bit cheap to me, if you are paying for besopke colors, it is not that much work to paint the fenders at the same time if requested.

The plain alloy look great on the 3W, but out here where the sun shines the glare might render one blind.

Was looking at the F1, Hamiltons car in close-up when they were sorting out the fuel problem. My thouhgt, "they have done an excellent job making the carbon body look like polished alluminium". Wonder what color that is, and how it would look on a morgan. Must be easier than polishing to that finish and keeping it nice. Is that an option for the m3w? J

To the OP: what have you decided about color? This is a very tough decision.

Looking forward to reading about how people choose their 3 Wheeler colors, i.e., how they evaluate, eliminate, and then finally select from mild to wild.

Can Morgan match any OEM color without seeing the actual vehicle? If so, I think I found my color today – but not quite ready to tell yet. wink

The biggest issue with the unpainted aluminium is fingerprints and surface contamination. I do think you can put a protective layer over is - lacquer? - but this will change the look and negate some of the point.

As for the mention of the Mercedes McLaren of 2007, I have long coveted this car and wanted my Aeromax in that exact colour. The issue is that it was done in a 10-coat process and the cost was astronomical.

With respect to painting the mud guards, MMC will normally try to accommodate anything, although there will be an additional cost. Was it the dealer who said they wouldn't paint the mud guards or the factory themselves?

The McLaren paint is done by Sikkens (Azco Nobel) but when I contacted them for my Series IV Aero they were not willing to give details of it out, as they considered it part of their IP.

Heico Sportiv, a German firm who tune Volvo's, had an S80 at the 2007 SEMA Show in 'painted aluminium' and were much more helpful and I actually bought paint off them, two components to make up a litre equivalent. Like most of these special paint finishes, including my current Aero's Rocket Red, you start of with matt black undercoats, and then gradually build up the coats to the finished article.

Unfortunately, MMC were not happy with the finish they were able to obtain and I decided not to go ahead with the paint finish (or in the end the car) and ended up with a Liquid Mercury AeroMax.

The other main down-side of ordering these paints is the cost, they tend to be horrendously expensive and for an Aero Morgan charge £10,000 or $16,000 for such a special finish and even when you pro-rata that for a Trike, it's still going to cost an arm and a leg!

Sorry for no photos, maybe I'll add some later, as I am on my iPad and in a hurry, but if you'd Google Heico SEMA 2007 you should find the car that I'm talking about.
