Hello again,
I would like to re[place my existing 'stock' wing mirrors with something shorter - I have seen pictures of several other cars on the forum sporting shorter mirrors that look ideal (to me).

Does anyone have a link to a current supplier?

Thanks
Andrew

They are on Ebay from several suppliers as well, just search "Lucas style round chrome door wing mirror". They are good as they don't vibrate and you can actually see something in them. The downside is that the view directly behind you isn't perfect as the angle isn't so good. I have a centre screen rear view mirror to improve that. They are convex as well so an improved view angle but things appear deceptively far away. I have them and overall the pluses outweigh the negatives I think.

Downside of fitting them is the drivers mirror view is half taken up by your elbow. Solution if you have a full screen (Fairborne or MMC) is screen mounted central mirror so you have a view immediately behind. Melvyn Rutter do one here.

I have a center mirror which really helps in knowing what is directly behind. but at certain speeds the vibration gives me "headlight circles".... wasn't since I was in school in the 60's that I saw anything like that

I tried them but couldn't get on with them. Drivers elbow gets in the way and I tend to drive with the passenger side tonneau cover on which flaps up and down annoyingly obstructing the view in the passenger side mirror.

+1. That flapping tonneau cover is a pain.

A good idea but it won't work on a M3W. The seat belt fasteners are outboard, not inboard as on the cars.

Anybody know where I can get convex glass for the stock mirrors. I assume the glass can be replaced.
