Has anyone had any luck sourcing some higher performance brakes for the Three Wheeler? I recently did a track day with it and by far the biggest weakness was the brakes. After about 4 laps of pushing it they started to fade and lose feel pretty badly. Digging around on the internet I found some upgrade kits for the four wheeled models but nothing obvious for the M3W.

I have it on good authority Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6 front pads will fit with very little modification. Just a bit of filing so I'm told.

Mad Max in France uses them to good effect as they are readily available in different compounds.

I had the experience a few years ago at track day after an enthusiastic couple of laps of my brake disks glowing bright red and fading, agreeing with the OP.
I have a picture of this somewhere ...
Very interested in alternate pads as discussed, but suspect the disks may be a limiting factor in performance driving as well in not losing heat fast enough.

Something that performs a little better when it is wet would be welcome. They lock up frighteningly easily.

The OEM pads have performed ok for me up till now when hillclimbing, sprinting and circuit racing. Perhaps I’m just not trying hard enough 😂

I did bleed the brakes after practice at Donington last year as they were locking up too easily. That did the trick for the race

Think I’ll investigate fitting the Yellow or Green Stuff pads for next year as I wasn’t aware that they are available for the M3W. (Thanks Steve 👍)

Motul RBF 600 dot 4 racing brake fluid is also another recommendation that I intend trying out

Other factors are short track so lots of repeated heavy braking and lack of skill of the driver, so who knows! I'd totally be up for Morgan racing if such a thing existed in my neck of the woods.

For those who have experienced a little bit of this, I can't think of a non silly way to say this, but right before the fade gets really bad the brakes start screaming/groaning. I'm sure that there is a better word/term for this that someone with actual knowledge might know.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone, I'll definitely try bleeding the brake fluid and maybe swapping out some pads (if I can find a good fit) since it'd be lovely if it was that simple. From my moto racing days I had the instinct that new discs could be part of the equation as well since the behavior was consistent with overheating. That said I'm not shocked that there isn't a market just clamoring for high spec brakes for the 3 Wheeler.

did it occur to anyone, that the M3W is meant to be driven.... but is not a racing vehicle? I agree the brakes are so-so..... but if you want racing brakes totally re-do it
