Onto the exhaust now, just removed the silencers, taking them to a specialist exhaust manufacturer to get a pair made up...the ones I will spec - WILL weight lighter then the ones i took off, they are sooo heavy!

Thanks for your help gents.

I noticed some rust on my offside top bolt despite only a year old although it unscrewed easily enough. Worth greasing well before re-fitting. The grease nipple angle (if fitted) can be adjusted if needed by loosening bottom nut slightly and twisting kingpin to suit. Top and bottom nuts can then be held against each other to re-tighten.

Looking at these images and hearing from "others" about the TOP grease nipple...my Roadster - does not have a top greasing point?

Why would this be so?

Mark

MMC stopped fitting them years ago. With good reason as they are about as useful as mudflaps on a tortoise.

The Devol Bush cars only had the lower nipple.

The top nipple was reintroduced. Possibly from 2006.

Blimey, I didn't know that. Do you know why?

My previous Mog which was a 2000 4/4 only had the lower nipple

My current Mog has upper and lower so now greasing takes twice as long

Twice the satisfaction though. I wouldn't be without my upper nipples innocent

The argument is that for pre 2004 cars where the nipple replaces the oiler pipe then the hole drilled through the kingpin is very small so very little grease if any gets through it and it comes out above the stub axle so does nothing. Read Gomog for the various arguments. http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/remotegreasing.html
