I have a 2005 Aero 8 Series 2 (delivered to US in early 2006). The door lock system does not work (no sound or noise at all coming from the car when you push on the keyless remote). The tech at my local Morgan dealership in Southern Cal has ruled out the following possible causes:
1. Keyless remote fob (new battery installed and fob is working fine) 2. Fuse 3. Relay system (he has already reset the CAN system but this did not solve the problem) 4. Loose wire 5. Loose plug (Though he did not think that either #4 or #5 above is the reason, he cannot completely rule this out) 6. Faulty module or receiver
He thinks that a faulty module or receiver is the most likely cause for the central door lock system failure and recommended for me to take the car to a local alarm system installer who has never worked on a Morgan before. However, I am trying to find a parts diagram to see where the module or receiver for the central door lock/alarm system is located, but since the alarm system was installed by an outside alarm company that Morgan sourced out to, I cannot find the location of the module/receiver on the online part manual.
Does anybody know or have a parts diagram to pinpoint where the module/receiver for the central door lock system (with keyless remote) is located on a Series 2? This would allow the local car alarm system installer to know exactly where to go instead of attempting to remove all the panels front and back to try to look for it.
Any help would be appreciated (I am tired of locking the doors manually with the key every time I go out). By the way, does anybody have a similar tissue with the central door lock system on an Aero 8 S2 before?

Hi there, I have a Aero Supersport which I expect uses the same module and have suffered the same problem. The car was with the Morgan specialist and it seems the manufacturer of the module has gone bust and it is likely to cost over £2k to have it sorted and replaced with another manufacturer! So, back to locking it the old fashioned way with the key! best regards Peter

So, back to locking it the old fashioned way with the key! best regards Peter The alarm system installer over here said he can install a new system (module with keyless remote) for much less than the price quoted on your car. However, I would like to see exactly where the module is located on a Series 2 so that he can know exactly where to go and which panel to remove to look for the module (he has never replaced or install an alarm system on a Morgan before but has replaced a module on all other cars including German and Italian cars). I really don't want for him to dig around and remove all the panels trying to search for the module. Do you think you can ask your Morgan specialist to see if he knows where the module is located on a Series 2?

If it was an old classic car then I don't mind. However, this car was delivered new with a properly working central door locking mechanism. It now likely has a faulty module that can be easily replaced if my alarm system installer knows where the module is located.

The central locking on my Aeromax never worked reliably from the day I bought it. So I didn't bother - just locked it with the (separate, upside down & tiny) door keys. If I were in the position of others here who want to fix their central locking, I wouldn't be bothered about originality as Morgan seemed to fit whatever was available at the time. I have compared locking fobs with other Aeromax and Aero Coupe owners and of three of us, none of the systems were the same (and the other Aeromax was only 30 cars apart from mine in chassis numbers and the same build year).

On my right hand drive S4 it's behind the dash on the left hand side if sitting in the car, don't know if on the other side for a US car. Probably a dash out job if it's in the same location, away from the car currently but might have some access from the side by unscrewing the trim?

I guess on my left hand drive S2, it should be located on the passenger's side (i.e. right hand side) behind the dash if you are correct. May I ask how do you know about the location of this module on your S4? Did you have to remove the dash for another reason and incidentally noticed that the module was located behind the dash on the left hand side on your S4? Or did you actually have to change the module on your S4 in the past? If you had to remove the dash in the past, is it a fairly simple job or did it require significant amount of time?

Sorry for the late reply! had to remove the dash for a different reason. If it's like the S4 it's a pain and you have to be a contortionist or quite small, an air ratchet definitely helps... I'm lucky enough to have a friend who used to work for A Morgan dealer.... You will need to remove the stereo and unplug the heater controls and Dash warning lights and switches, then when you're pulling the dash out you need to unplug gauges etc... 2 person job to lift it out and you have to be very careful. You just need to crawl into the footwear and unfasten bolts, I seem to remember 1 or 2 near the passenger airbag you only need to loosen bit then with this being Morgan they might have changed that on later cars... Sorry I can't be much help but it was over a year ago when we removed it on my car...

It seems like a difficult job to remove the dash and other interior equipments in order to get to the module, especially for a local alarm system installer who has never worked on a Morgan before. If this is the case then I really don't want him to go searching for the module and then create more costly problems to fix down the road...I was hoping that the module can be easily be located right behind dash but unfortunately not...I guess I have to go back to locking the doors the old fashioned way...
