i want to put a cigar socket into my +4 but where is the best place to put it any advise is welcome

From reading this forum, I have learned that you may very well already have one well hidden in the top of the "glove compartment".

On another note, if I were to add a cigar socket to an open car like the Morgan, I'd buy one of those hybrid cigar plugs for motorcycles (or one of those square BMW sockets) or some other waterproof socket. Ordinary cigar sockets aren't waterproof and are really poor quality.

But, anyway, you probably already have one well hidden in your car.

Look under the dash , on my 4/4 Sport there is a power socket here.

Mine is in a homemade box on the gearbox tunnel - together with the oil temp. gauge and the switch for the Kenlowe fan.

So, there you have it. You probably have one without you knowing.

With regards to installation of a secondary one, I'd choose the footwell of the passenger side, pointing down and using a waterproof plug, or perhaps between the seats - same waterproof plug.

Having been fluff diving many times underneath passenger side of the dashboard (the last time to refit the w/washer tube) I always wondered what the extra live lead was, and I thought is was something to do with the radio. Just goes to show you learn something every day!
