Can you point me to a thread on recalibration of the speedo?

Not just yet but there will be something on here soon, probably a link to the MTWC 5 Speeder info section.

Don't forget the fuel tank mounts. Of all the things that were done to the 2013 M3W I owned, that job was the single most expensive item. I also don't think that the fuel tank mounts' design has been updated to avoid the cracking/leaking issue.

My fuel tank mounting system looks like yours and mine is new.

Yes, I have driven the M3W, and yes - it was the most fun car I ever have been in, but from what I read I would NEVER buy one, at least not one of the early cars. Tweaking and upgrading is fun up to a certain degree. Small repairs can be OK, larger ones not so OK, getting stranded not OK at all. The list of upgrades - sounds more like necesseties - mentioned here and in other threads is outrageous in my opinion. And even if needed upgrades are done by previous owners, the number of flaws attached to these cars would make me sit there just waiting for the next one. I am surprised that MMC had the nerve to release something with so poor quality, especially considering the price. If the recent cars are better - fine, but the customers are not the ones that should be used as a test bench.

That list was for an owner of an early 2013 car that had no "upgrades", checks or modifications done since new. Most current cars have been worked on by owners. I have a 2013 car but I would say it is a much better car than a 2019 new one and certainly more reliable. If you are buying an early or older M3W you have to be aware of what to check and what to look for, like all cars, they can vary greatly. You cannot buy a M3W on age or mileage alone, you need to do some research. There are some bargains about and some lemons.

Owners have the same feeling! smile
If buying today I'd seriously consider a Pembleton. But it needs a few niceties to match a M3W...

Buying into an M3Wis accepting a project and all the frustrations involved in dealing with sometimes very distant suppliers or dealerships.
