Hi

Given how low the Aero's are can anyone recommend a good trolley jack to get underneath them? i have a Series 2, Also can someone confirm the jacking points please.

I have one of the low entry, aluminium trolley jacks for use on my Aero S1.I bought it years back at a car show but you can get them at e.g. Machine Mart ,Costco , Demon Tweeks and the like now

It worked fine on my (lowered !) Lotus Elise but won't go under the Aero without some help

You can either use -

the standard jack to raise it a little ,then slide the trolley jack under (which is a bit of a faff)
drive up on a couple of e.g. scaffolding boards to raise the car the necessary height
use a couple of these - Low entry ramps - which is the route I took eventually.....

If you Google them, you can get them a lot cheaper than Halfords too

These plastic car ramps are ideal for raising low cars enough for any trolley jack to fit under.

Wayne, I have one of the rare S2 as well if you ever need to compare notes.

These are great workshop jacks with their low build height and long length, I have one, but a waste of time to take out the workshop as a normal person cannot lift it into a car single handed as it is over 40kg.

I agree it’s a workshop jack, but I lift it in and out of the van single handed, even if I haven’t had 3 Shredded Wheat for breakfast....
