After a few years spent using my mog less than a dozen times per year, last week she didn't start.
I traced the problem to a diy antitheft device (well) installed by the previous owner, that after all those years failed abruptly.
It's ok now, but it was the excuse I needed to open the bonnets and start playing! That literally opened the famous Pandora's box rofl

So I plan to sort both and rear suspensions...after some studies I guess that for a diy mechanic it is probably better to choose the SSL kit for the front and the Rutherford for the rear. How do these two match together? and to distribute the expenses, which would you tackle first?

But more urgent, and I'm ashamed to ask, where must be connected that loose green/blue wire I found near the distributor? looking at the schematics, it looks like the water sensor wire to the gauge (that doesn't work eek), but I cannot find where the hell it must be attached! A picture would be very welcome, my engine is a 1.6 cvh

This is where the water temperature sender is on a CVH engine:

Thanks a lot! I can't remember to have seen a faston connector in that area, I'll take a closer and more careful look

Had a look at the engine this morning, I think I spotted the sensor but I could not find any place to attach my green/blue wire. This terminates with a female faston connector and on the sensor there's not a corresponding male. What am i missing??

Won't a standard spade connector slide on from the side? You will need to chop the insulation off.
Cheers

Looks to me like the male spade connector has broken off. You could try soldering a new spade to the end of the sensor, or simply buy a new sensor. A quick look on Ebay shows the sensor as having a male threaded pillar, so the design might have changed since my car was made.

See CVH Temp Sender

Male connector slides on sideways (perpendicular to the axis of the sensor).
Hope this helps,
Phil
