Donned on my most elegant driving attire to take the M3W to the Classic Car Show at the NEC today. Dreadful weather on the way there with heavy rain and lots of standing water with corresponding rear wheel aquaplaning excitement. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/07/NEC_TM_3.jpg) This is 'Three Wheeler Corner' ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/07/NEC_TM_1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/07/NEC_TM_2.jpg) The MSCC stand is in Hall 1 so please do stop by and say hello if you're at the show.

I bet there are not a lot of cars in the NEC that did the drive through that awful weather, heroic stuff Bunny. I also bet your M3W is the star attraction on the MSCC stand....... That engine looks very polished .

Yesterday morning was cold, clear and sunny here in the South East. 4th ride out in the Jolly and I just love it. Route out from Colchester towards Braintree, Feering, Chelmsford. Lots of varied speeds and twisty country lanes, sun shining through the golden leaves in the trees, magnificent. Tha engine purrs and the gearbox is already loosening up nicely.
Coffee and cake stop at Paper Mill Lock near Maldon. As I pull in to the small stoney car pike waiting for another vehicle to come out so I can take its space, I can see a couple of lads looking out of the cafe kitchen beholding the sight and sound of the M3W. One of them comes rushing out to tell me I can double park in front of their kitchen as they are staff cars, which was nice. A couple emerge from another vehicle with a little boy about four years old and he asks me "What is that car'? I tell him it's a Morgan 3 wheeler and it can fly! His eyes lite up.
Coffee and cake was lovely watching the water spill over the weir while checking M3W was safe over the fence. Ready to leave, I approach the car and two gentleman were standing admiring it, as they do. The now usual conversation takes place before I'm on my way along more twisting wooded lanes through Little Baddow, Woodham Walter and Maldon. The sky growing dark and angry as I fly along the back road towards Mersea Island via Heybridge, Goldhanger, Tolleshunt Darcy. Finally pulling in to my garage just as the rain starts falling. Now that was a little bit of heaven. ☺

First outing in my newly acquired 'Brooklands' model and ran out of juice a couple of miles down the road, thanks to ultra efficient fuel gauge. First lesson duly learnt ! At least with my pre-war model I can dip the tank with a stick!

Bad luck. The fuel gauge is less than reliable, so most owners reset the trip to zero when they fill up and refill at or near to 200 miles even if the gauge reads 0% after 100 miles or less. There should be 20% more than that in the tank, but 200 miles is the rule of thumb.

I'm not a 'glass half full type of chap' . . . . . I'm a 'why is the glass twice the size necessary' sort of bloke. . . . but gather that's not true of M3W tanks !
