Thank you for the kind offer - I think I'll stick with a new one, need to make sure I'm getting the maximum CFM for the size.

The usual thinking is for the fan to be behind the rad to suck air through. Based on it blocking airflow through if in front. The fan kicks in if the sensor teaches the designated temperature for the engine cooling system. There is a chance of the fan kicking in more often if the temp rises more frequently due to airflow restriction. As for the through the rad fixings, if your rad is in good condition then there shouldn’t be any problems. If in doubt use brackets to fix off the rad but make sure you don’t create big gaps.

By lengthning the rad perch the rad can be pushed out farther on the bottom and possibly making room for a Puller 12" Spal on the inside. How to lengthen the rad perch. Use Your imagination or PM me.

Should you think a pic of my old original (?) +8 electric fan set-up might help I am happy to have a go at capturing one or two.... Just SHOUT..(-: Could try to PM a pic to save space here or post one on the general or Morgan galleries... Posting in threads requires joining a hosting service which I am not quite into..

The +8 radiator arrangement is completely different to the 4/4 Crossflow engined cars. On the former the radiator is angled to allow clearance over the steering rack/track rods and this allows an easy fit of a rear mounted fan, on the latter the radiator sits bolt upright about 3" in front of the crossframe,

I've gone for a Revotec 10". It's being sold as suitable for an Escort MK2 so will assume with the greater cooling capacity of the Morgan it will be more than sufficient. If I mount it high on the radiator, I think it will just clear the crossmember - there's about a 46mm gap at the moment, and the deepest part of the fan is 51mm (which should clear above). If not, I think I've got enough wiggle room to move the rad 5mm forward easily.

Not sure about fitting - I'll see where it sits, and what metal work is around. They sell a couple of metal side plates that I reckon will work with a couple of U clamps or similar.

If it all goes in OK, will fit one of their adjustable thermostats into the top hose (although it will mean cutting my lovely new silicon hoses!)

Will probably keep the fan in the back of the car as a emergency back up.

A hell of a lot easier to fit a front mounted fan, as said previously copes perfectly well with the heat over here which is a good deal warmer than the UK.

I considered the 'pusher' style but consensus among the car community seemed to be that the 'puller' was a better option and allowed for better cooling. I reckon it should be fairly straight forward fit, and certainly more aesthetic.

To be honest, I doubt it will come on much at all - only if stuck in traffic on a hot day!
