The brass "two-eared" tool available for MWS wheels at about £15 works really well, with a polyurethane headed hammer - far superior to the original flat spanner. This is also very portable.

any more tips for removing them. My ones has siezed on aswell.

Me too...bought some 2 ear spinners and just can't budge the nuts!

Hit 'em harder with the wheel on the ground, or get a special tool.

They should be packed with grease, also they are made of brass so really should not be seized. Judicious application of force in the correct direction should be all that's needed, but that may mean an extension bar, or - as I have found - the MWS tool (just £15) and a good plastic headed hammer. I really struggled with the OE factory tool and "lead" hammer, much cursing and swearing and bruised fingers, now it's no problem.

Gave up and took the car to Mike Duncan this afternoon. He ended up getting them loosened eventually but at the expense of a fractured tool which was a lot heftier than the one that came with the car!

He just said that the factory had done them up too tightly and it wasn't the first time he'd struggled to get them off. If I was going to keep the Continental nuts I would have bought a special tool as Dave suggested but I'm replacing them with two eared ones so not worth the cost.

I recently bought a tool from the MG Owners club which is for two-eared spinners. It is brilliant and makes removing the spinners a doddle - Bought online from their website - cost was about £35 and well worth it.
