I disagree..!

Morgan's USP is Ash, Aluminium & Leather, and the PlusSix has it by the bucket load..

Just look at the accolades from the motoring press, the magazine reviews on YouTube and all the vloggers, for some real excitement about the new platform..

A Morgan is different, home grown, exciting and something very cool to be seen in. The old guard Trad owners may be guffawing into their Sanatogen, but the newcomers to the marque are to be welcomed surely..?

Just look at this photo from Evo Mag..

Maybe the cx will transform Morgan in a positive way. I for one wouldn’t swap my easy up hood for one of the old hoods.

If it’s not priced too high and it is better handling, more refined , faster , more economical, requires less maintenance, less leaky, greener, safer I think many people will want a CX and not a trad. As long as it keeps the special styling that separates it from the more mundane. I guess I will only know once the price is known and had a drive.

I also hope they make an automatic at a lower price than the plus 6. I’m disabled so it would be better than the adaptation I currently use on my plus 4.

I’m with you Hawki
Lady HB won’t drive a manual so I too am hoping for a Plus 4 level CX automatic, with hopefully modern suspension so she doesn’t squeak each time we drive over a grain of sand!!!!

To me the retro look is not the problem so much as the fact that a huge number of body components are not interchangeable, doors fit worse than an 1800s coach, etc. I would also suggest that much as I like them sidescreens have had their day. I do not have problems with the Easy Up Hood and mine does not leak however when it is down, from an aesthetic point of view, it should be completely out of sight.

The Aero in part met the criteria I am on about but it did not go far enough.

To my mind mudguards, bonnets, cowls, and doors should be completely interchangeable and what is handcrafted of the central cockpit should be made to fit with the other parts - not that these other parts are crafted as on off's to fit the cockpit.

My impression is that the PlusSix has offset wipers which would be an improvement on the trad models but perhaps it is also time to re-visit the windscreen and give it more rake, even slightly curved, and fit decent wipers

Great photo!

That photo could have been taken right out of Evo mag's ECOTY car of the year , in that the Plus 6 sun much more than the other 5 contenders on track . This needs to be looked at by the MMC and sorted out , we want a gradual loss of control not a sudden letting go as we are in the drivers seat !!!!!!!!!!!

It would be interesting to find out if the suspension changes made to Shooters car (and PeterJ's shocker change) mitigate the quite snappy transition to drift. I think some of the comments he makes about the changes would indicate that it is quite practical to do this. I know my Coupe snaps quite hard when pushed but the S2 is lighter on the back end and so gives me a few hops before letting go.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I see you are a real optimist Daniel. They said the same thing when Morgan changed production to 4 wheelers and again with the demise of the "flat rad".

I think it more likely to ensure that the company still exists after 2020.

Let me be pessimistic. Those changes belong to another era, to another time, they are another story, this is different.
First they sold the company now the Trads chassis are gone ¿What would be the next announcement?
Maybe BMW ends up buying the company and moving it to Germany.

I'm not a Morgan owner...yet!
