Hi, I am trying to source lockable wheel nuts for my new plus 6. The only information re wheel nut spec that I have been able to get from Morgan is the the wheel nuts on the Plus 6 are the same as on the Aero 8. Can anyone give me direction as to what are the correct lockable wheel nuts fo buy

I gave up, the recess in the Aeromax wheel is so tight, just enough room for a socket, that the only locking wheel nuts I could find that matched the thread wouldn't fit the wheel.
To be honest, the chance of anyone stealing a Morgan wheel is small, as the only potential buyer is another Morgan Owner....

Lost the locking wheelnut key for my Subaru last week. Purchased £19 Laser locking wheel nut removal sockets from Halfords. https://www.halfords.com/workshop-t...er?_br_psugg_q=locking+wheel+nut+removerInstall socket on Impact Wrench. Unscrewed 4 locking wheel nuts in aroud 4 minutes. Explain the advantage of using locking wheel nuts to me please.

I don't think there are Eddie. I removed the things on my MINI and replaced with standard wheel bolts. Locking wheelnuts / bolts are a pain in the proverbial...

I have found out that the wheel nuts fitted to the Aero 8 series 4 and 5 are, M14 with a thread pitch of 2mm. If this is any help as I am trying to obtain some for my Aero.

To use the Laser locking wheel nut socket from Halfords you you will need a powered impact wrench in order to use the wheel nut remover. Most wheels are taken by opportunistic thieves in carparks etc where, hopefully, they don't have access to an appropriate impact wrench. It is possible to steal anything, the object is to make your pride and joy more difficult to steal than the next guys so they take theirs instead , lockable wheel nuts, whilst not fool proof help in this respect. £40 spend to protect a £2500 set of plus 6 wheels is not a bad investment in my eyes

Same as for a Ford Transit...  They come in 2 lengths and different cone angles, so it is important to match. The nuts on Tarka are closed end, with a 25mm threaded portion and a 45 degree cone. There is "just" enough space to fit a 19mm socket over the nut, an overall O/D of 17mm. the hole in the wheel is 30mm. Last time I looked all the locking wheel nuts had a diameter of over 30mm, so wouldn't fit into the wheel. I'll have another look in Halfords and see what they have.

Just to check your claim about needing an Impact wrench, I took a locking wheel nut off with just a socket bar in a couple of minutes with the Laser branded socket. No need for an Impact wrench. Where is the published data to confirm your notion that that these thief’s are opportunistic????????????? Your money to waste!!

Well I have not heard of wheels being stolen, is it common in the UK. But I do understand there are low life’s about everywhere.
I assume these would be covered by your vehicle insurance, but off course it would be highly inconvenient and costly if it was to accur.
