Getting there thanks Rich-took Florence (noticed the First Class carriage was called Florence too - it’s a sign I tell ya) out for an hour last week and paid the price with ankle for the next two days....and Lady HB still isn’t allowed in yet due the sitting angles.
When watching the programme I must admit we were looking carefully for the roads near the railway line as well as trying to spot the car parking at either end. The Mallaig end looked better from the limited shots.... nonetheless thanks to all for the ideas eg fly drive, booking via tour companies etc etc
Will watch again soon simply for the inner peace created listening to the old style clickety clack with a steam engine in the background....lush!

Recommended.

This however would mean leaving the Morgan at home, and driving one's Morgan in the Highlands is, as DaveW says, just about the most pleasurable thing it's possible to do.

Did the railway journey back in 2005, a treat for my 50th birthday. Have watched the programme, brings back some fantastic scenic memories.

Seem to be places available. First Class may be fully booked on a number of days/services.

Yes driving the highlands in a Mog is a great pleasure. The picture is of the pass to Applecross

Though the train would also be fun.

Thanks G.
Her Ladyship will be on the case (even if she doesn’t know it yet!!!)
Actually, due to her concerns re her hip, we have postponed the idea of a drive to Scotland in 2020 (inc the Islands trip) in the Mog, and I have now been tasked with investigating the Lake District/Windermere trip for September 2020 instead, which she feels may be more manageable....
Thanks again for your link which will be saved for future use (hopefully 2021 at the latest).
Best wishes to you for 2020 sir
Ps have you seen anything of the development of the new visitor centre that you’re allowed to divulge without getting into trouble?

Still stripping out the old one last I saw. The Nissen hut (where hire/demo cars were stored) has been demolished.
Back there tomorrow, but I don't expect to see any changes yet for a while.
