On Channel 5.
Anyone else watching this at the mo? West coast of Scotland from Ben Neavis.
Only sound track is the steam engine, occasional talking from the driver and amazing scenery shot on and around the train literally minute by minute. Lady HB has just come into the room and we are discussing what is sadder-that this is prime time Saturday telly or me coz I’m watching it for nearly two hours utterly absorbed and have no wish to watch anything else!!! Helps having it on HD big screen of course...👍🤪😎

I'm a huge fan of any railways but nothing beats the Highlands in a Morgan.

Done it lots of times on my way up to the Isle of Lewis and Harris in the tin top but having watched a bit of this we are going to do this train journey sometime. We'll do it on a Fly Drive into Glasgow from Exeter life is too short to spend it on a Motorway these days having suffered them for years at the coalface.
Thanks HB, hope you are both getting along well on the road to recovery.

Watched it twice now!
The Jacobite is regularly sold out well in advance.
I have a few photos of it crossing Glenfinnan Viaduct, so does Tim and Andy G (thanks to Andy pointing out the best place to get photos!).
Was expecting to see a lot of people on the hillside at the western end of the viaduct on the video but it looked quite quiet.
Will I watch it again - oh yes smile

Yes indeed, a great viewing spot. We're staying at the Glenfinnan House hotel again this summer, if the weather's decent I might climb up the other side for a different view,

Programme is downloaded for later, I love slow TV. They did a wonderful one about a sleigh ride in Norway a few years ago, totally captivating.

One way of getting round the fully booked issue is to go with a tour company, who will have secured block bookings in advance. Last summer, we used NewmarketHolidays to fly from Bristol to Edinburgh, then coach travel to Carrbridge. Every day was a different train ride with fantastic scenery at a very reasonable cost. Recommended.

This however would mean leaving the Morgan at home, and driving one's Morgan in the Highlands is, as DaveW says, just about the most pleasurable thing it's possible to do.
