Hello, could someone tell me what make and model of rear axle is fitted to the 4/4 1600 of 1979 ? . . . please.

It'll definitely be a Salisbury and I think it's a 7HA someone will be along to confirm that. Here is an image to help you identify yours Salisbury 7HA the same axle but non LSD was used on your car I believe.

It will be a Salisbury 7HA which should be stamped on the diff cover, as the BTR axle was introduced in 1996. Use the link below to take you to the GOMOG index and there you will see the links to the Salisbury Axle information. http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/gearindex.htm

Salisbury 7HA
The only thing that will be on the diff cover (hopefully) is the little metal tag giving the number of teeth on the crown wheel and pinion
There is a serial number stamped on the underside of the axle , near the drain plug hole. I think that the first digits of this number relate to the year the axle was made.
