I’m with you Headless blue. I will be tempted to buy a new plus 4 if an auto version is available. If they don’t, I think I will stay with my current plus 4. I was tempted by a plus 6 until I saw how complex they are under the bonnet, even a minor job is likely to be expensive, there is no room there at all.

The GDI consumption will improve with the AR flash and a better manifold and cat.

The GDI consumption will improve with the AR flash and a better manifold and cat. I had the upgrade to manifold, cat and AR flash done just before Xmas. I've not gone through a full tank of petrol yet to test the MPG, but the early signs are good after a 70 mile run. I was getting 35 mpg pre the upgrade (at allowable driving speeds!). I must say, the upgrade has transformed the car. More responsive on the throttle and less sensitive on pulling away. The flat spot at 3000rpm has also disappeared. Nice sound from the twin pipes too! Expensive, but worth it.

If I put two of mine together I could not match that. (meant with humour not to be rude)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I have just been to the Morgan dealer today and the news is the new CX car will be a “powerful “ four cylinder engine and will be available in either manual or auto. I have no idea what the engine will be other than the description above quoted by Morgan. The dealer thinks it is likely to be priced in the mid £60K’s.
It’s looking very temping for me to buy an auto.

If only they had built the GDI's like that from the start. Hindsight eh? I'm not a tightwad, but when touring (Scotland), 40mpg is more convenient than 32mpg.
