In answer to a question, yes I have a big 1/4" steel plate protecting the gas tank.
I would still very much like to hear from other owners of the older cars (1960's) on their thoughts on the four leaf springs, how they ride/feel, ride height and a possible setting back of the axle. The Mulfab idea backwards is a good one, I'd just love to hear from more owners on their thoughts/experiences.
