Had those on previous Mogs before Wolf existed, worked fine Do these one's lock? I have been waiting for Wolf's bonnet stays for some time. Looking for an alternative that locks so wind can't blow the stay off. Had a couple of close shaves at car shows in the past. I used to open the catch & trap the end in the extended spring, release & It used to stay put

Cheers Rob.
Fabricating improvement items in the garage for the Morgan is a great substitute for what I used to do on the race bikes!

I love the spring loaded ball joints idea, I'm going to convert mine to this.

Most professional and independant fixed bonnet stay solutions appear to employ the fixed lower rear bonnet catch (bolted to top inner edge of wing) and its matching spring loaded catch bracket on the bonnet to support same when open. This would work fine on my 3.7 Roadster for the nearside, but drivers side (RHD) has an extended bulkhead that requires a flat lower catch bracket bolted to the outside of footwell housing, the holes for which can be seen below adjacent to thin red line mark on wing. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/K4eKtuH.jpg) This precludes attaching the pivoting bonnet stay to the inside of this lower catch as with nearside. Thoughts are to drill a hole above this bracket to support the bonnet stay pivot with large spreader washers each side to add support from the thin aluminium, subject to access and clearance when bonnet closed of course. I just wondered if anyone had come up with an alternate solution for this particular model.

Hi Richard,
Could you have a right angled section brazed/welded to the right hand side of the catch plate. It doesn't have to accommodate a fitting as elaborate as used by Themorganeer, just wide enough for a small ball joint and long enough for stability?
Or, a wider section bolted to the face of the catch bracket (using original holes) again extending far enough to fix the ball joint.
Just thoughts.
