Hi Richard,
Could you have a right angled section brazed/welded to the right hand side of the catch plate. It doesn't have to accommodate a fitting as elaborate as used by Themorganeer, just wide enough for a small ball joint and long enough for stability?
Or, a wider section bolted to the face of the catch bracket (using original holes) again extending far enough to fix the ball joint.
Just thoughts.
