Hello everyone, being 28 I told myself why shouldn't I buy an anachronystic, unsafe, unreliable, underperforming and every other un- you can think of car before (unwillingly?) settling down and play the "good husband with maybe a kid on the side and a boring estate" role in the forecoming years?
So here it is, 2009 S2 Roadster, bought and driven home fighting 3°C and a loose driver sidescreen that let frozen air blast right into the cabin at 80 mph (speed the car is perfectly comfortable at) for a total of 220 miles.
I think it already integrates some if not every single "usual" upgrade, at least on the inside, and it's running perfectly with its 8.500 miles, the only thing a vibration that runs through the steering wheel whichever is the speed she's running at, that must be sorted on her first service of her new life!

As for now, i'm really, really happy with it, the car feels every bit as special as i've imagined and every single time I walk through the garage I find myself looking at it more than i could possibly admit!

For the records, i've read almost everything on this forum before buying it, i will never thank this community enough for helping me even if i did not register until now, as i wasn't a Morgan owner but just a Morgan dreamer.

Cheers,
Gabriele

Brilliant, very different from Violet, but the red trim and midnight blue paint work wonderfully together!

Welcome brave you!

I love your story as well as the fact you buy a Morgan living in Modena.
There should be a sports car brand near by - wink

Just can tell you that the feeling of looking at it in the garage does not even disappear
Within the first year...

Have anachronistic fun!

Welcome, your car looks super smart. I used to drive to Bologna 2 or 3 times a year (for 7 years) for work so I know you have some wonderful roads near you. Enjoy.

Hi Gabriele

Welcome... That is a very pretty car... The colour combination works well.... The contrasting body piping will have passers-by scratching their head's... Not something you see on modern cars so they may never have seen it before.

You have the climate and roads to enjoy it..... Who knows? You may pass it on to the 'kid' long after the boring estate has been dragged off to the scrapyard.

Have Fun

K

Or even after the first 15 years! I've been outside in the failing light, fitting draught excluder to the doors (will it help keep the draughts out? We shall see!) and I couldn't help standing back and admiring the Morgan's lines! Many congratulations for being brave enough to buy the ultimate anti Maserati/Ferrari/Lamborghini/Pagani in petrolhead city!

Congratulations, Gabrielle, that’s a lovely example and to own that at 28 in quite an achievement, life will happen anyway so you’ve done the right thing to follow your desires.

One of the things I like most about this forum is the international nature, there are no borders on here! Timely that you’ve arrived here, my son and I have been discussing a road trip to Modena, he’s 19 and I’m 50, we both agree if we don’t do in in the next year or so, we never will. If plans develop, I’ll be on to you for advice!

First place I’d look for the vibration is definitely the tyres, your mileage is very low and perhaps they’re just old and gone hard with standing.

Welcome Gabriele, great to see a young person interested in owning a Morgan and more importantly enjoying the very special experience that driving a Morgan provides. I am fortunate to have enjoyed driving in Italy in my old Morgan some years back, remembering an early morning drive down the Amalfi coast on my birthday...(-:

I hope you too can create many happy memories in your Morgan. thumbs
