So does it mean, the Plus Six has OEM such a diverter valve but unlike the BMW no switch to make a change?

Unclear from the photograph.

So it could be a lot more fruity in Sport Mode.
The Sport Mode switch could be set to change the exhaust flow.

The 2017 AMG C43 does that: in Sport Mode it would fail its noise test, which is why the handbook says it is only for use "where permitted by law", or something.
In fact on the 2017 model the loudness is selectable by the driver, but in the 2019 face lift version and in my 2019 A43 the exhaust noise is not user selectable separately from driving mode.

Our next door neighbour was the owner of Lafranconi Silencers (unfortunately he is no longer with us) . A couple of years ago he told me that valves that changed the exhaust system were no longer legal. I'm not sure how various sports modes that seem to increase sound get around this.

The AMG GTC I drove last year was brand new and standard. She has diverter valves which can be switched independently of the drive program.

Morgan offer a standard Exhaust & a Sport Exhaust for the Plus six. Is this a different Sport Exhaust & if so what will be the advantage.

Cheers

Sorry I can't answer that one Graeme but a quick call to Morgan Park will provide the answer I would say. They produce premium quality aftermarket products and feel sure this will follow that pattern. They speak very good English of course.

It always made me laugh that the Aero had THE best exhaust note of any BMW V8 (okay with sidepipes). It's only fair that the Plus Six does the same for the IL6T.

That is good to hear, out of interest has anyone heard the other two cars that are fitted with the IL6T I haven't we seem to have visitors down here in large tractors or Ferrari's but little of note.
I saw and heard the Plus Six at FOS and was totally underwhelmed with the sound it made so the MP has to be a good move and who knows maybe it will be the best sounding one..

We have a new Z4 with the IL6T engine on our business park. It may as well be a PHEV for the noise it makes. Oh and it's pretty damn ugly as well.

I went and spoke to the owner and he is a little underwhelmed by the entire experience. He said it felt a little like a robot compared to his old M Coupe (the little hunchback model).

He said that the best car he had heard around was some bloke with a Morgan that came in from time to time rofl
