The knurled knob could be the dashboard dimmer. The small push button could be the seat ejector,!

I have two buttons: one is to adjust the clock and the other relates to the speed as others have described.
The knurled knob is the dashboard light dimmer control.

Apparently the push button should only be pushed if the engine is running - otherwise resets all sorts of things - mine resets the trip odometer. Knurled knob dims the dash lights.
