Just a quick hello to everyone from this new memeber.
I have joined the ranks of Morgan owners with my 1995 +4 T16. I am equally over the moon and at the same time terrified at what ownership will bring after reading all the so called expert motor journalist reports versus club members real world views. Its a big step up both financially and lifestyle after years of running and refurbishing British motorcycles, which I no longer find enjoyable out on the open road, mainly due to losing so many friends after accidents attributed to the main cause of motorcycle road deaths ie. car drivers "sorry I didnt see you" syndrome. Anyway I hope this forum will be an ongoing source of valuable information and hope to make some new friends along the way.

Welcome Colin from one of the Yorkshire contingent. Nothing to fear about Morgans, and don't believe the expert motoring press. Anything you need to know...…….just ask the collective.

Welcome.... If you're happy refurbishing British Bikes you'll find a Morgan's mechanics totally understandable.... As long as you treat the front uprights with the same respect as a Triumph sprung-hub you'll come to no harm.... Lived at Gowdall just south of Selby for ten years and still have relatives in there area.... Look forwards to seeing pics of your car. K

Well done on the purchase and hope you have many years of happy Morgan motoring. Good things about Morgans is that whilst the initial acquisition can be high, once you have them running costs are very reasonable and you generally don't have to worry about the hidden cost of depreciation.
Cheers

Welcome Colin. There are a lot of ex bikers on here who reached the same conclusion as you.

Welcome indeed Colin and from another ex-biker, though I note you think you are placed "up North"... well everything is relative and from my location you are down South...(-:
T`was while riding my BMW R 850 R in the ninties that I came across a vintage open top Bentley being thoroughly enjoyed on the great bit of road that runs down the North side of Loch Tay, and while watching the skill and effort of the pilot caused me to decide "I want some of that"... Thus a Morgan it was the (just) affordable choice...(-:
I do hope you enjoy your time here and have already discovered gomog.com if looking for more data than might be readily available elsewhere..?

Welcome to TM. Another ex-motorcyclist here - mainly for the same reason as yourself. After buying the first Morgan 14+ years ago, found I hardly ever used the bike(s) so little point keeping them.
