If you're thinking of going to the factory from the direction of Worcester this morning forget it.

Here's shot I took of the floods on the A449 this morning. Note the white van which had come to a halt - the driver was still in the cab.

And the aerial view. The van's bottom left. [Linked Image]

My SIL lives just outside Worcester: ground water is oozing up through the floor of their cottage, built in the 1700s.
This hasn't happened in the 30 years she has lived there....!
Not a lot of fun for so many.

Wow..!

I've used that garage many times, and know that part and that is deep in the dip..! The aerial photo is jaw dropping.

I guess production at the factory may be delayed a bit..

Did a 30 mile mountain bike ride round York today watching the flood barriers and Water Authority keeping the flood waters at bay.

Some heavy duty pumps in operation and I was able to access along the barrier tops..although I was told off by one official for putting myself in danger ( he was correct of course)..but I do that everytime I drive my Morgan !!!!!

High water tomorrow and very many worried people..I feel for them !!!

They use drones a lot now to check the defences and where they are being breached..much safer way of doing it.

Even though storm Denis has gone there is still a lot of water to come down from the Dales.

Keep Dry if you can....

It may not be "up north" but down here on the Wiltshire Avon valley the hills each side are saturated, so there is a lot more water to clear. The hills are mostly chalk, with only a thin layer of soil: normally rain is adsorbed by the chalk, so there are few streams.
It looks as though the chalk is saturated: the result is that new springs are appearing and water running off where no stream has ever flowed.
Much of this new runoff is collecting on minor roads, so the ditches are full and the roads under water. Tarka will be staying in the garage for some time to come, I fear.

More rain is forecast, but nothing like as much as over the last 2 weekends. We have a rain gauge in the garden: it shows up to 80mm, but is overflowing. So I think tht over the last two events we bust have had over 4" and perhaps 6" rain. Annual rainfall here is 29", so in two weekends we have had 20% of the annual total.

Driving in Shropshire, Worcester and Herefordshire - was a nightmare this morning.....

BTW - people don't know how to drive....if the conditions change even a wee bit.

I sincerely hope the elderly man driving his Volvo estate on the A49 this morning in 4 inches of water suffered a hydraulic'd engine.

Everyone was driving slowly and being sensible this f**k wit, came the other way - doing 30mph+ creating one hell of a wave..... swear

Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

2004 Roadster S1 3.0 V6 gone!
