Ivo, it is certainly not an easy decision. I didn't know that the Plus 8 was built alternatively in steel at that time. On the other hand it still has real handmade fenders. One of a kind. When I look at the dashboard (Kauffelt?) it is an indication that this car was very much loved and a lot was invested. The same goes for the good care of the interior. Maybe the decision comes after the test drive. And I think the V8 doesn't really care if it's steel or aluminum.

I owned a healy 3000 and a moss box +8 when I was younger, both at the same time. To me it was a no brainier the +8 was a far better user car. The Healy was a more long distance cruiser but did not have the character of the Mog. Strangely my friend bought it from me,and loved it. He still ownes it.forty years on.

Ivo the Morgan will lend itself to some Geoff yellow far more readily than the Healey, just a thought Good luck and fun with your choosing process.

@waikiore: The dash is an aftermarket one, but I will check. Thank you If I remember well, the bulkhead and inner wing valences are not painted, so they must be stainless. @Heinz: Exactly @Richard: That‘s what I also thought. Had already some Photoshop sessions for both cars

Good luck Ivo whatever you decide.
SteveT ran a lovely Healey for a while but came back to Morgan if that helps!! Indeed he did and I still miss it! I wouldn't hesitate in having another but they aren't for everyone and not easy to compare directly with a Morgan. I'd say drive both and you'll either love it or its not for you. The Healey is from another era, more so than the Morgan despite its looks. The driving position is upright, heavy controls, big wheel required and compared to the Morgan I would say requires more skill to drive well. But a good one, and it has to be good or they are a horrible drive, is a fantastic car, lovely engine, a straight six better in my view than a v8. Can be ultra reliable, mine was but spares are easily available and often lots cheaper than Morgan. So my advice is not to make your mind up until you have driven both..they are very different.

Ivo. I am lucky enough to own a '99 Plus8 and '66 BJ8. As has already been said, they are completely different cars from a different era. My very late Healey, when the factory had supposedly sorted out all the problems, has been meticulously restored, but is still a 'land yacht' compared to the Plus8. It is great as a tourer but you will soon get fed up with the vague steering, and every component on mine is new !! Imagine you turn the steering wheel, dwell a pause and the car responds. Having said that, I love both cars for their marked differences, although somewhat amusingly both have water leaks in similar places ! But if I had to chose one ??? no contest, the Morgan. A few sleepless nights to come I think ?? Kind regards, John.

Thanks, Steve, thanks John, Soon, I will have the opportunity to drive both. But unless I instantly fall in love with the Healy, I will go for a Morgan. If not his one, than an other one. I still have a picture of Geoffrey on my wall and every time I see it, I realise how beautiful this car is. I always wanted a Morgan and the more I think about replacing it by an other car, the less plausible it is. Sunny greetings, Ivo
