A friend of mine had one and I thought it drove just like a J4 van awful but looked pretty.
He soon migrated to Plus 8 ownership having compared.

Thank you guys  .. There is just one thing, where I am very concerned with the +8. That is the Lucas injection. How reliable is it? I mean… Lucas does not have the best reputation out there… The SU carburettors from the Healey are so much less frightening… ... Ivo Hi, Don't worry for that, regarding the year it i probably a "Hotwire", but could be a "GEMS". Both systems are reliable, a lot more than carburettors. BR.

As above , very reliable , has been fitted to thousands of rover v8's , either hotwire or flapper both being excellent - flapper does pops and bangs hotwire shuts off fueling when right foot off accelerator .

Ivo, I've had two hotwire Plus 8's over the years without a problem don't worry about them.

I'm with Richard had my +8 over 20 years and never had a problem with the Lucas Hotwire system, on the other-hand the driver has caused issues

Many thanks, for all your feedback. Today, I had the opportunity to take the +8 for a spin The feel is different compared with my Roadster, but I immediately felt „at home“ and I enjoyed it very much The +8 is fantastic car  What is interesting, the wings and the cabin are made from steel and the bonnets, the rear panel as well as the doors are aluminium. The overall condition is good. Some light scratches and minor paint chips here and there, but that‘s OK, the car is 22 years old and has been driven. I had a chat with the mechanic, who did quite some work on it, so now, technically, everything it is perfect. Saturday, I will meet the owner and I‘m almost certain, that I do not need to look further.  Sunny greetings from Luxembourg, Ivo

Good luck. It sounds like a good car.
My 97 +4 had a steel fire wall but the rest of the tin ware was aluminium.
