I too am about to buy a 3Wheeler (ex demonstrator from the works) and have been reading ‘MORGAN 3 WHEELER’ by Peter Dron. There is a lot of very useful info in it - and a few glaring typos. Well worth reading.

Thanks all for the links, some good price comparisons so I will bear that in mind when deciding what it is worth.
Unfortunately to all the others selling M3W's I am only interested in Matt Army Green launch spec cars - as much as I love them all!

Funnily enough I have this sat on my mantle - I really must read it, espicially now! read

Popped in to Allon White (my local dealer) this afternoon to take a look at the 3 Wheelers for comparative purposes, Phil gave me some great advice as well so I feel a bit more confident I know what I am doing! cheers

Nick, I think the main thing to look for is chassis cracks although KH will probably have checked it. Anything else that can go wrong probably has by now, plus the car has upgrades. I think the urban cooling kit is a necessity and also agree with others that the car is overpriced.

Non of the three has the engine cooling fan this may not matter depending on where you live & how much traffic you may be stuck in. My 2013 does not have it & its not been a problem, its never gone into skip fire mode. The kit is not hugely expensive but the ECU does need a reflash to make it work automatically.
If the rectifier is swapped for a Harley D part it can stay forward facing without the bobbins. The HD part is much less than the original CE part from Morgan.

The Morgan Three Wheeler Club is shortly going to publish a '5-Speeder Buyer's Guide'. This exerpt may be helpful.

‘All the Upgrades’

It is not uncommon to see a car being advertised as having had ‘all the upgrades’. This refers to retrofits designed to bring early cars up to (near) 2014 standard. You need to check that the vendor really does mean ALL the upgrades! These are the important ones:

Steering Comfort Kit – This kit repositions the track rod ends to correct the very bad bump-steer that afflicted most early cars. Recommended.
NVH Kit – This kit isolates the bevel box from the chassis in an attempt to reduce the noise made by some bevel boxes. It does not work very well and in fact introduces additional problems. Therefore, if you find a car with the bevel box bolted directly to the chassis, the advice is NOT to have the NVH kit fitted. Not recommended.
Urban Cooling Kit – This is an electric fan and associated plastic cowl fitted behind the engine. It requires an ECU flash to enable the fan to be controlled. Recommended.
Centa Cush Drive – More details later in this document. Recommended.
Cam cover venting, Pinion pulley & Pulley upgrade – These improvements were introduced via S&S and greatly improve the longevity of the cam belt. Essential.
Revised rear Hub – Designed to reposition the rear wheel with respect to the drive belt. More details later in this document. Recommended.
Steel Rear Wheel Drive Sprocket – MUCH more robust than original alloy sprocket. More details later in this document. Essential.
Repositioned Regulator – Originally the regulator was mounted to the engine cradle via three rubber bobbins. In this position, it was exposed to extreme vibrations resulting in early rubber bobbin failure. This upgrade simply re-mounts the regulator to the chassis where it is not exposed to such harsh vibrations. Recommended.

Additional essential upgrades following factory recalls:

Chassis Brace – Fitted behind the engine on pre 2014 cars to prevent chassis fatigue.
Brake Pedal - Modification to strengthen 2012 brake pedal.

Even in cooler climes my fan is nearly always running whilst in stop and go traffic... and really was helpful when we have a few really hot days

The fan is programmed to kick in below 10mph

The fan on mine is temperature dependant as well, went out yesterday and it was bloody cold! Stopped at traffic lights and the fan came on after being stopped for a while, warmer weather and it comes on as soon as you go below 10mph.
