Artical just released on Pistonheads confirming a new 4 cylinder CX will be announced at Geneva. Power suggested is 306bhp! That is the new version of the BMW B48 inline 4. Makes no sense when the B58 Six used in the Plus 6 is 335 bhp. Just 29 bhp more. The 255 bhp version would be more logical. Actually, I think the 181 bhp version would be the most sensible, with a slick 6 speed manual box.

Given the torque available the 181 bhp version would be fine in both manual and auto.

Who said there will not be one of those coming along shortly (just stirring the pot, I have no idea). Bring in the higher value cars first to keep profits up and then release the lower cost mpdels?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

If it is circa 306 BHP, the logical question is why would someone buy a Plus Six for a lot more money? I think circa 180 BHP would give a definable 'split' in performance, even though that would still be a quick car! And given all the chat about the Plus Six accidents, a lower BHP version would certainly be tempting and perhaps hit the sweet spot!

I reckon it’ll be around 190hp which would roughly equate to the current club sport. Seems a sensible number to me

Morgan has announced plus 4 revealed next week.
Great news it will be interesting to see prices and spec
Ian It will indeed. Now they have a modern chassis, I wonder if they are going to have another car range with a modern body? To me it seems like a no brainer - in reality there only is Lotus in the market. TVR isnt going to happen, Ginetta isnt a real road car, and IMO the caterham and variants arent really cars. They could offer a much less bland alternative to the Boxter. Looking back at the Aero’s I suspect that influence came out of the Bugatti Atlantique/Talbot 136 genre. They will be future classics, the Aeromax in particular was a great shape. I would like to see a similar car emerge with more of the 1930’s styling cues, flat rad for example. Also how about one like this: https://youtu.be/WciLAb4Ni4s I saw the two tone green/blue version at the Design Museum as part of the Ferrari displays, I could have sold my kids for that. Kevin

I see Geneva Motor Show now cancelled. Wonder how this will affect the launch (I fully recognise of course this really isn’t the most important thing going on in the world at the mo before anyone has a dig!) Stay safe all HB
