My pride and joy - 2010 Roadster - has developed an intermittent fault which causes the engine warning light to come on. Currently I am told this is triggered to register out of range readings from the lamda sensors - but there are no other symptoms and the car appears to run fine. If reset, the fault occurs again fairly soon (like within 50 miles). This is a new car with still under 1,000 miles on the clock. I am told there is a known problem for which the factory are seeking a solution - and in the meanwhile not to be too concerned !!! Any experience of this out there?

Dear Mr.Blueskies,

don´t worry. It will surely be a (Monitor-)lambdasond fault only. If your next MORGAN agent or service is too far away, you may help yiourself by disconnecting the battery for some minutes. After re-connecting the faultlamp will be off.

If that appears again you´d better attend a service agent to make sure it´s not something else the lamp indicates (it shows a lot of different engine management faults!)!

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

my 09 roadster has this complaint about once a year, first time it happened it was checked and the readout was weak mixture left and right hand banks. Factory said cancel it. next time same thing same answer. Now my local classic car man cancels it. The factory know about it and are trying to cure it!!! My 02 plus 8 had a similar problem and the same cure!! was done.

Thanks to all for comments and good wishes.
I am sure you will agree that this is an irritating fault on a new car - and while one can disregard and/or get the warning light re-set as advised there is still a nagging doubt that there might really be an underlying problem that would be better not ignored. Being told its a known problem that MMC are looking in to doesn't yet provide a solution. I am told by my dealer they have another car currently returned to MMC for investigation of a similar issue. Hopefully that will yield an answer! Thanks again for the replies.

Our 2008 Roadster had this problem and the plug in diagnostics showed a problem with fuel vapour near the tank.

It took about 4 goes before the dealer changed a seal on the tank and now the problem is fixed. This was also a known issue at MMC but took nearly 2 years to fix!

Still, all OK now, good luck, and I hope your fix is quicker.

The problem appears in many of the R100's and these are some of the suggested Cause/Solutions I have heard.
It is Lambda sensor related.
Heat wrapping both of the 'Cats' to keep the temperature high.
Fit a battery Isolation switch to off/on reset the EMU when needed.
Make sure the warning light goes out before the last turn on the Ignition key.
Sports Tail Pipes can introduce a problem not there.
If there is no change to engine running or performance dont worry about it.
Fit an off switch on the lamp???
We,thankfully, have not had this problem in 2900 miles (touch wood). oldgit

Hmmmmm........... I'm beginning to get the impression that MMC is a bit tardy. I've had my car since late March and just discovered today from the DVLA that according to their records the factory still owns it mad I've been chasing my V5 for weeks!
