It was one of the first jobs I did on my Roadster. Its buried in my how to's somewhere, and also in my book of course!
You don't need to drill the bellhousing. There's an oversized hole through the bell housing just to the nearside. Make a cardboard template, its little more than a couple of inches square, and add an extension to cover that big hole. Drill the aluminium plate, and use a large nut and bolt. At the top, the plate locates behind two existing bolt heads, All S1 Roadsters need this mod.

Thanks to you all for your advice. I am not sure that I can get under my car because of my arthritis but have a small garage locally and I am certain he would let me use his lift. I will get right on to it.
