I have to admit, I have to confess. I love my Morgan. It is my pride and joy. But as a everyday car I love my Tesla model 3 even more. It is a fantastic car. It is fast, it is nimble and the range is more than enough, even in the cold of Norway. If I should by another petrol car it has to be a Morgan - or a pre 1970 car. Otherwise it would be a electric car. I hope you can forgive me, but as a modern car the electric cars is so much better than a car with a petrol engine. I have to be honest, but I hope not to be excludes from the Morgan community.

In years to come we know doubt will have to buy an electric car but as for now petrol engined cars are still allowed . The trouble is that in the UK there are rather a lot of people and rather a lot of cars and not many charging points for electric cars to cope with the volume of electric cars even now . they are also rather expensive and very much at the early stage in their development . Character isn't thje strongest point for an electric car !

Ragnar ....owning (and liking) a Tesla isn't a crime against Morganeering!! smile

If I lived in town I'd give serious thought to owning an electric car myself as a purely un-engaged but practical 'tool for moving about in' .....however, as long as they let me I'll have my little collection of petrol-driven beauties because that's where my heart lies.

K

Ragnar, not by me ! as an i3 owner for 4.5 years (although slightly embarrassingly we also own 4 ICE cars too) but the EV is brilliant for our daily commutes as we live in a densely populated city

Raganar, I wondered why you think a pre 70 car might be more suited to your requirements than perhaps up to mid 80`s..?

For me it was the introduction of digital technology that began to complicate repair and maintenance for the home mechanic that fouled things up. My mid 80`s +8 has an electronically controlled choke system which I think was the beginning of Morgan being forced into the world of emissions control while still running carbs, I suspect my old +8 was one of the last produced to to have carbs as some Morgans registered around the same time mine were produced with fuel injected engines.. ?

Currently running a modern diesel family car, but very open to electric replacement if/when the time comes to replace it.
