Amongst all these folk going to their dealer or to the factory for an Ecu upgrade for their trads , is there yet an Ecu flash for the 4.8 litre engined cars yet , as they have been around for a while and many would like one ?

Not certain we will see one Max, The engine has been out of production for a long time. The last batch which was with Morgan cluttering up the factory for quite some time was made on the prototype production line especially for them. An aftermarket company could probably do something to tidy up the map and remove the economy element of it but I don't think it is a priority?

As a matter of interest what is it that makes you think you need a new map?

There after market "Flashes" for both the new Plus Six and Plus 4 engines. The Plus Six will go up to 500bhp, with ease.
As Alistair has said, the V8 is an old design and it is far harder to squeeze more out of a naturally aspirated engine than a Turbo, I understand.

I suppose if you want to make an Aero V8 a bit more lively then buy the engine from the M Sport boys, the S65, with 444bhp, if it will fit.

I think someone on here mentioned that the 4..6is engine that was used in the X5 for a time is a more elegant swap. It has a fair bump of additional power and a more race-cam profile. Could bea giggle.

It would be great to have the option to have a re map up to say 400 bhp , round figure from 367 bhp , arn't there any aftermarket parts available to get more air/fuel/better breathing for a re map to work ?

I don't read it anymore, but the ads towards the back of mags like Evo used to be full of tuners offering BMW, Merc & Audi remaps

True . celtic tuning etc ! Better ask KH again as the map for the NP 8 is a different one than a BMW so Celtic would be struggling to know what to make of it possibly .

Yes those still exist however they more commonly advertise their wares on Forums, Fizzbook and other places these days.

The adverts you see depending on being able to manipulate the fuel/air mixture on a turbo car which gives MUCH more option to tweak quickly. For Fuel Injection engines it is a little more difficult. In/Out and engine map will give a little, camshafts might give more as well but will require far greater investment than the turbo engines. The issue with changing the cams on the engine is that they are already pretty fancy on the later 4.8 engine with it's dual VANOS engineering?

A set of racing cats, a good inlet filter and a big exhaust may give you a bump. A remap of the fuel management ditto but trying to find someone with intimate knowledge of that on the V8 will be quite rare I suspect.

Aero Racing do the exhaust, cats and may know more.
