It is possible that the EU will soon legislate that all mobile devices must use a uniform charging plug. It will most likely be that Micro USB Type C will be the standard. The charging port must be in the device so that Apple can't pull the stunt of saying that they have complied by making an adaptor cable available. It is expected many devices will be sold without the charger to save resources and the generation of many tons of waste being generated every year as chargers usually outlive the devices. Even if the industry switches to wireless charging only the wireless chargers still need to be connected,

I am all for standardisation in this and many other areas.

Totally agree Peter. The sheer number of chargers resting in a big box in my study makes me a little mad. Every device coming with it's own charger is just nuts. Some go as far as electrically keying them so you have to use their model. USB was a start and USB-C does finally look like it might work. All the new Mac's and the iPad Pros are USB C and I think Apple will migrate everything fairly quickly. We just all the other companies to catch up.

Soon all phones will have wireless charging and that in itself will provide a re-charge standard.

Although an accessory I bought the 27 watt fast charger for my Xiaomi phone. I just place it on a circular pad for super quick and convenient charging, and the pad is i-phone compatible and presumably any other wireless chargeable phone.

I guess there will still be a need for cable charging though, when in the car for example.

No need to worry about cables on the Plus 6 BTW once you have a self powered Bluetooth adaptor plugged into it, allowing wireless audio hookup.

I thought Apple were being forced to abandon the Lightning port due to possible legislation? About time all devices had the same connector, such a waste of materials. That should also include standardisation of electric car charging cables. Oh and car parking apps they really p**s me off. Especially the Westminster one, takes ages to find a space then the app crashes...again!

Back to stereos I've been looking at the Focal FSP-8 to go in a Plus 6.

(The Focal thing sounds great, put some sound absorbing materials in with the speakers though. Especially keen to hear about that.)

If and when I get Plus Six I was thinking about asking the factory to install a better sound system. Whilst googling around I came across Focal, whom I know install in the Alpine A110. I haven't really priced anything up as yet but I think this system could fit in nicely somewhere in the Plus 6. I'm sure I have seen someone, possibly on here with this or similar system fitted.

My main concern is that most of the music I listen too isn't that great a quality (Northern Soul) and the digital setup could well be wasted on me.

I think that with a weight of 1.35 kg the focal system is too light. To get full sound in the Morgan I plan to put my living room amplifier behind the seat. Then I have a sound full weight of 30,5 Kg and a little warmth in my back.



Here is the matching remote control that I will install under the dashboard of the passenger seat. My wife is petite anyway and she would like to share the space.

Got the pus 6 to some up difference to plus 4.... Smooth and fast!
The only problem is that in the plus 4 I know what I am getting A Morgan and all that comes with it.... scintillating squeaks, romantic rattles, close harmony with road bumps, wind hair styling. The plus 6 immediately feels sorted , smooth, sophisticated, which lulls you into thinking you have a production Porsche or an advanced Aston but where do I switch on the GPS, adjust the rear view mirrors at the touch of a button, a seat that remember s your last positions, heating and air-conditioning that can be tuned within a tenth of a degree, having to jump in and out to adjust side mirrors, spend minutes not seconds putting the hood up I am brought back to being in a Morgan and so far I love it
The plus 6 was to be a wife pleaser and hopefully encourage the good lady to accompany me on some trips longer than 40 miles , so continuing where Morgan have left off with the make the wife happy accessories I am getting my lads in the workshop to make a trunk box that looks traditional but that can withstand British weather and should be able to take two carry on flight bags or one large suitcase my carrier bag will go behind the seat! The other challenge is to have the radio relaying all what is going on with the world whilst the GPS struggles to cope with my Directional Dyslexia. I have the connector from ny iPhone to the jack plug, even found one that has a charging input as well. I can get google maps through the speakers but don't think its possible to have GPS active whilst using radio app on phone Its the plus 6 syndrome lulling me into thinking I have a "proper" production car that politely reduces the volume on the radio to allow the gorgeous GPS lady to give me soft spoken directions. Have looked into latest GPS by Tom Tom but it seems thy use the frequency to give the voice directions that would be used by radio Any ideas ?
I promise the radio bit is just to keep the good lady happy and I will remain, whilst traveling alone, true to Morgan values and just listen to the music of the beautiful BMW engine amplified by the Morgan sports exhausts

I use an iPhone. I don’t use a radio app on that but use iTunes to play music I have downloaded. When travelling I use google maps or waze to provide directions. It does cut through the music to provide the turns. You also get the option in waze to reduce the messages to warnings (speed/potholes) only. If you are using podcasts or channels through iTunes I expect this would be the same.
