Just in case you were wondering my 1996 4/4 had a service, MOT and a panhard rod fitted by Matty of Life's in his new home at Banks. near Southport on Monday. As usual great service from a great chap and all the very best for the future. I will return. Paul.

Hi Paul
What was your first reaction to the handling on your first drive after the Panhard rod was fitted?
Any noticeable difference to the feel of the car during normal driving conditions?

Hi Bob,
I had one fitted to my 4/4 last year... night and day difference around corners!
So yes... to answer your question... yes, a noticeable difference during normal driving conditions... that includes corners :>)

It was all A roads and mostly motorway in torrential rain on the way back but it seemed a lot tighter. Cheers.

On my Roadster the difference was more subtle, better but hard to pin down why.
What did stand out though was the Panhard rod eliminated rear wheel steer under hard acceleration. I didn't expect that.

Just been fitting my Sifab rod today and wondered what to expect in the real world as opposed to the perceived theoretical benefits.
Let you know what mine feels like when I test it.

Matty is a great chap He came to my rescue out of hours last year when my MFU box had burnt out and he’s looked after my Mogs since 2014

Dave, I think the rear wheel steer und hard acceleration appeares because Series 1 has only one anti tramp bar. Then under acceleration one side of the axle is rigid under control and the other side is free floating to the front and the back which generates a steering effect. I am not really a fan of panhard rods with the Morgan for other reasons but a second anti tramp bar should solve this issue. So I did it with my series 3 Roadster Sport.

My S1 didn't even have one anti tram bar, when it left the factory

Jon, you are right! Sorry, I confused it with the series 3 that I also had. But apart from that it is not good to have only one anti tramp for the reasons mentioned before.
