With the potentially disastrous effect of Coronavirus on everything from stock markets to businesses big and small and people who are unable to work, what affect will this have on Morgan sales? Will potential purchasers now have second thoughts on buying a luxury item? Morgan must be considering the impact on their business. I hope they can ride the storm.

Hope you're feeling ok John. Things may well slow down, unless you are a toilet paper manufacturer...I think most people will pause on purchasing anything for a week or so and then realise that life goes on, somewhat cautiously though. I know a few people that have already got some real bargains. Discounts will open people's wallets even in the worst of times.

They'll ride the storm they've made it through several Labour governments and World Wars - the thing that will cause them the biggest problem is as or when the first case is discovered in their own workforce.

Their customer base is not of the hand to mouth generation they are people with quite a considerable amount of spare cash around looking for a new toy and that won't change overnight.

All we've heard for months used to be Brexit and the Corona Virus kind of puts things into perspective. A lot of things are going to be put on hold, but with all the uncertainties in the world I'd rather have my Morgan than stocks & shares.

My Morgan is also better than money in the bank to me irrespective of whether it increases or decreases in value.

Hopefully we can get back to normal soon and look forward to a summer of Mogging. drive

We really hope the workforce is able to continue but one wonders how they will deal with the possible case if it happens . Steve Morris must be quite worried . sick

They should have a business continuity plan, although as a former Civil Servant, having spent many hours creating and unpicking Business Continuity Plans, I don't recall ever having one for a total shutdown of an office due to infection.

The biggest irony of government forward thinking is their continuing obsession with closing small offices and converting into a tiny number of huge Regional Offices.

Eggs and basket come into mind.

Morgan may segregate the workshops, and minimise close social contact, but the limiting factor is who has the skills to work metal and wood. If those people have to self isolate and no one else can do it, then production will stop.

Likewise it will be a huge factor the way this is managed and their new sponsors will be watching very closely and I wish MMC all the good luck in the world during these difficult times.

Same with every government service (eg NHS - not many community hsopitals left - wouldnt they be useful in this sort of COVID emergency let alone for dealing with elderly bed-blocking ex-patients awaiting care packages...).

We've had to stress test our IT with everyone trying to log in & work remotely and test if you can actually get into the relevant servers, also...
No site staff allowed to visit the office
No office staff allowed on site
No face to face meetings with suppliers
Potential restriction of staff numbers allowed into the office
