I like how they're telling everyone on self isolation to sleep in the spare bedroom, forgetting that they've removed spare bedrooms from a large proportion of the population. And to use separate bathrooms, cos so many houses have multiple bathrooms.
I'm suprised they didn't ask you to make sure the butler does all your washing, as the little oik is dispensable....

Whilst I was not thrilled by the abrupt closure of bars and restaurants in France at 4 hours notice, I accept that it was necessary. What's more, I was hugely reassured by the President's address to the nation last night. Macron spoke very well, and showed real leadership. He has promised huge resources to help people and businesses to get through this crisis. My main concern is to be able to afford to keep paying my staff without bankrupting my business.
HMG's advice to the public to avoid pubs, restaurants, clubs and so on seems in comparison rather passive aggressive, and a complete abdication of responsibility. The licensed trade have been hung out to dry. If the government doesn't want people congregating in pubs, they should order their closure and to provide a package of aid to help those businesses, to help them to weather the crisis. My local (an independant craft beer joint) have decided to reduce their opening hours, but are also now offering a home delivery service. They just had an enforced closure at their other gaff, and one of the storms blew the roof off a neighbouring building and closed that section of the retail park. I really hope they manage to survive.

Well the Weatherspoons near our office looks pretty full of students this lunchtime  It is Prudent to apply social distancing at our local J D’s in the absence of a pandemic threat.
