Thanks from me too, Ian.
I think that your strategy of leaving the decision to the last moment is the only way to work things at the moment, with a bit of luck things will blow over but I'll admit to not being full of optimism right now.
But hoping for the best.

To make matters worse - self Isolation required for two weeks on arrival in Isle of man by sea or air
https://www.three.fm/news/coronavirus/quarantine-for-anyone-travelling-to-island

Ian - may be best to check this out
Anyone travelling to the Island must go into quarantine for two weeks as of 23:59 tomorrow.
It means anyone arriving on Manx shores by sea or air will have to self-isolate as a precaution against COVID-19 regardless of whether they show any symptoms

Ian

If this kiboshes the trip, I am particularly sorry for you after the work you have put in to this. It was a great idea.

Do you have a Cunning Plan?

Hi Guys,
Things are moving quickly now and the latest development as posted by Allan above is probably the final blow.
However I have nerves of steel ( years of driving three wheelers ! ) and am talking with all concerned at the IOM end to mitigate any possible losses and find a future solution. Please bear with me, a reschedule plan is being worked on. Further news on this to follow.

UPDATE
Alternative dates are being worked on jointly with our IOM agents. Current dates stand at the moment although I doubt there is any chance of the event taking place then. With the news last night, all holidays on the IOM are not feasible now. Once things are clearer and I have some options I will let you know. We are looking at August/Sept/Oct or even 2021.
Our IOM Agent, the Ferry and hotel have all agreed we work together to salvage something for the future. That is all I can tell you for the moment.
Ian

It is indeed a rapidly changing situation. For what it's worth, my vote would go for (at least) +12 months.
As others have said, many thanks Ian for all your efforts on this. It's turned into a real headache hasn't it. frown

Thanks for all the updates Ian, I am sure this is all causing you lots of work and grief. I would also favour a 2021 date. I think that if things do go ahead later this year there will be a lot happening all at once with conflicting dates. The same sort of time next year maybe?

Hi Ian
We agree. Similar time next year will be our preference.
Still hoping our regular visit to the Classic TT will go ahead late August/September, but I guess this will be much busier than usual with the cancellation of the TT.
Ferry for the motorhome and campsite have been booked since last November.

Best regards

Allan and Helen
