I'm with HB also. We do have a few Blighty bashers on TM.
The way I see it is this. There's nowhere I'd rather live. Nowhere. And specifically Yorkshire.....just the most amazing county.
The other thing. Migrants pass through Europe. They don't want Italy, France, Germany, they want the UK. Whatever is going on with this, it means something.
Even with our shite weather.
Now I see Europe in turmoil again over keeping borders open. When push comes to shove, Europe is not united.

An analogy:
I've supported WRFC since I was about 11. Growing up, many of my school mates went on to play for them. It was great following them through promotion after promotiion in the early Duckworth years, although a lttle sad to see familiar names disappearfrom the team sheets. Since reaching the top flight it has been very frustrating. We have had times with shocking leadership and management, and, like many supporters I have been very critical, whilst still giving the team my full backing through thick and thin..
So it is with Britain. It's my team, and will always be my team, despite the efforts of the management to get us relegated.

Probably, at least we'll know for certain then whose strategy was right as opposed to the pure speculation at this very early stage in the evolving unknown virus.
Stay safe everyone.

Eight new countries infected the latest WHO Sit Rep SR 57Notable in the stats is that Italy with 2503 deaths is now within 728 of the present total death toll in China. That's an awful lot of sadness come along with this virus and it appears to be picking up pace now. Keep your heads down and stay indoors or at least limit your travel for others sake if not your own please. Fresh air runs in the Morgan excluded of course.

I would urge you all To take a break from all the theory and conspiracy chatter for a moment and consider the Health workers, thank them all for what they do, and consider the fact that it is certain some of these people will contract Covid19 and some may die from it. All while trying to keep you and I alive.
So as hospitals gear up for what looks like the inevitable with Covid19, let’s all spare a thought for the people that work in them. The doctors, nurses, orderlies, cleaners, cooks and all the others that staff these places. They will no doubt by now all have been briefed on what to expect soon, and be preparing to wind down some activities as they ramp up to prepare for a worst case scenario. Without every one of these people doing their jobs the outlook would be bleak indeed. Now consider what they might be feeling, because this is not a bad case of flu, Covid19 can and will kill. I can’t help feeling that as they smile and pretend not to be too worried, inside they may be like troops in the trenches in WW1. Wound up and tense they know the barrage is coming, just not when and how bad, but certain in the knowledge that they will be the ones helping you to fight it. That is what I call stress. So from me to all of them - THANK YOU

We do have a few Blighty bashers on TM.
Very emotive use of language there, Dave. Let's look at what's happened. 1. Most countries badly affected by COVID-19 adopted a suppression strategy 2. The UK, guided by its scientific advisers, adopted a mitigation strategy 3. Other scientists thought this strategy was wrong and said so. Many other people agreed with them and said so. 4. The government, again guided by its scientific advisers, recognised that the emerging data indicated some potentially undesirable outcomes and changed to a more suppressive strategy. Does this really count as "Blighty bashing"? Was it wrong for people to identify the weaknesses in policy and draw attention to them? I am a massive patriot, I think the UK is a wonderful place to live and I owe my allegiance absolutely 100% to our country and my community. But patriotism is not the same as Exceptionalism - or even worse, Nationalism. I don't think that because I love the UK so much it makes us automatically better than anyone else, and it's precisely because I care so much than when I believe we are making mistakes I call them out. I want us to be as good as we can be, and I firmly believe that this is best achieved by working and co-operating with the international community rather than dismissing their skills and expertise as being somehow inferior to ours.

I wish. Back into the cesspit this morning. About 15% of kids are self isolating due symptoms, family symptoms or high risk due to health issues. At least three that I know of sent home due to displaying symptoms (they're having to play everything down to avoid panic) Several classrooms have been evacuated for deep cleans (bit like bolting the stable door, but there you go) Most rooms have now run out of tissues and hand sanitizer, and new stock is taking an age to appear. Most of us now are just waiting to get infected....
