Hi Guys, Sorry this notice is so long please read carefully.

Thanks for bearing with me. I am sure you understand that I had to play cautious and not call the event off myself. This would not have been wise. As it was, the IOM government by imposing a two week curfew made it impossible for our holiday to go ahead and I felt it prudent to let our agent on the IOM ( IOM Travel, who is government sponsored) call it off. In my opinion it leaves us with a stronger hand. The event is now officially off........ Maria and i are so disappointed to have to do this.
Several alternatives are being looked at with next year looking the favourite.
I had a long talk with them yesterday, they are sinking under a mountain of TT cancellations at the moment and that will take some time to clear.
I Assuming that we go for next year which looks likely the best bet I am under no illusion that we will get the deal I worked so hard for this year either from the hotel or ferry. But will try !
Our deposits were on a non refundable basis, I shall be challenging this as we were not the ones to cancel. I will update you on this. In my talk with them yesterday I intimated that we use the same deposits for when we rebook unless anyone cannot make the rescheduled event.
I really sympathise with the situation that all concerned have been left in as we were looking forward so so much to this event. There are certainly no winners in this situation.

So, assuming I go for 2021 I have to bear in mind that Maria and I, Paul and Rachel and Bob and Heather have already committed to shipping three Mogs out to New Zealand. I have booked a container and all the hotels too. We are following in Ric Hardy and the others footsteps or should that be tyre tracks ?
We Arrive in Auckland 7th Feb 2021 and finish our four week tour of North and South Islands in Christchurch on 11th March 2021.
Maria and I are lucky to have a choice of Morgans but the others will have their Mog still on the high seas till the end of May.

If I can get the dates i want i would look to book the IOM week for immediately after the TT in June to enable both couples to join in as I am sure they want to.
All this is in the planning yet but that is my immediate thoughts re a date /month for 2021
This years event was to celebrate the MTWC 75 years birthday, next years event will be a Goggles and Gauntlets do. The IOM will be a fitting place. The hotel has 60 rooms, we had filled 44 for this year lets see if we can get all 60 filled next year !
Those of you who eagerly paid their balance recently I will contact you shortly to refund you.
If you have any questions or wish to make any comments just get in touch and let us know. We have broad shoulders.
Right now we now have to watch out for we have a two week tour of Northern Spain taking in Portugal and several days driving the Picos Europa Mountains, with nine Mogs on the trip lets hope this damn virus starts to clear up.
No final decision will be taken re a revised event till you have your say then we shall go with the majority.
Hope we get chance to meet somewhere sometime soon. We will keep you informed.
Best wishes
Ian and Maria.

Thanks for the update Ian.

I do have loose plans for a trip next year which would mean my M3W would likely be in a container at that point, but as yet nothing confirmed and that trip may yet be changed depending on how the rest of this year pans out.

Ian, We admire your endurance. Many thanks for your thoughts on the IoM for 2021. Like the idea of the week after the TT.

That's a result Allan!
For those of us booked at the Crowne Plaza (non-refundable rate via IHG) they are currently waiving any cancellation fees between 9th March & 30th April. I'm guessing that this period will be extended as the crazy2 'situation' continues so hopefully we will be OK. thinking
