Very sad. We have now lost another 6 doctors bringing the total of doctors who have succumbed to 14. Also 13 priests have lost the battle. The hospital system is now stretched to the limit and a military type field hospital is being set up at Bergamo, In Bergamo particularly they are also starting to suffer from shortages of medicines and have urgent need of doctors and nursing staff. Apparently volunteers are on the way from China and Cuba.

In our small town we now have 11 cases in total and 2 deceased. The last two days, other than taking the dog down to the beach under our house I have stayed indoors.

Worrying times indeed.

That is a very frightening scenario there right on your doorstep.
It is good to hear the International community is coming to your aid, it's as it should be of course but good news.

Were the doctors and priests of senior years ?

Stay safe, it sounds as if you are doing all you can towards that end.

I can only hope that some of the most younger people in areas of Germany will not become overconfident. There are too many citizens who do not realize how serious the situation can become. I don't want to accuse these people of bad intentions. Many are young and carefree.
They cannot and do not want to imagine what it could look like in two or three weeks. But the politicians had hoped that people would show responsibility. Unfortunately, many in the cities do not do so. Therefore it is foreseeable that we will have a curfew from Sunday at the latest. I am for it if there is no other way. Otherwise we can't protect the elderly. I believe that the young people have no idea what is going to happen here and these people have never had the experience of having their freedom drastically curtailed. But it will have to be and hopefully it will be a forming experience for the ignorant.

With this I do not want to say that I enjoy it when people are cut in their liberties. It's just that freedom is not more important than the survival of the community. It's a very surreal situation. The drama is only two weeks away and today many people don't want to anticipate it. Unfortunately, this was not really possible in China and also in Italy. But here it should be possible after all that people here could see affected areas elsewhere from the past weeks.
I want to say that the vast majority is very sensible. But the small group of idiots can cause a very dangerous spread of the viruses. So we may get a total quarantaine.

Here the young people, except for a few idiots, are being very responsible. Strangely there seems to be more of a problem with elderly people.

Just heard from a friend in Isreal that they have just instituted quarantine for the whole country. Just like here it is only possible to go out for essential reasons.

It is "Spring Break" in the USA and the kids are partying in Florida as if there is no tomorrow.
Perhaps, for some of them, there may not be.
