Good point

I’ve not seen anyone out testing the pumps or card machines for the virus......because they won’t and people are missing the point. The advice applies to touching ANYTHING......door handles, cashpoints, shop shelves, etc etc. What they are saying is follow the advice, keep your hands clean and, if they aren’t, don’t touch your face until you have washed your hands properly.

Interesting background story about the development of things in Italy, seen in the view of NYT. I see parallels with our federalism in terms of competences, powers and command. In addition, the constant postponement of central decisions and regional interpretations etc. Without prejudice to this, it is unimaginable what doctors and nurses in Italy are doing.

Sad but true.....
I am not sure we have or heads around the importance of "Social Distancing" and the spread of the virus in our part of the world.

Spot on Craig, the virus is unlikely to penetrate healthy skin on your hands, it’s the transfer which causes the problem. Unlike bacteria. a virus can’t reproduce nor survive without a host, washing your hands appropriately is all that’s needed and in fact, should be done anyway, pandemic or not.

I was annoyed today at Domino’s pizza and not just by the ridiculous cost. 100 miles from home, needed a quick meal, they had posters at the counter congratulating themselves for caring about staff and customers and only serving take away orders, in their wisdom they have closed their toilets, so now you can’t wash your hands, what a stupid thing to do!

From an NHS friend of mine getting peed off with people being so selfish.. Excuse the profanity..

Perhaps they had run out of toilet paper, rumour has it there's been a run on it

The National Trust just announced on Twitter that they are closing all parks and gardens. Coastal sites remain open with a plea for Social Distancing.

Local folks who are NT volunteers and in touch with local sites report that Calke NT was packed out with people picnicking etc today. Left loads of litter and dog poo and no signs of social distancing. BBC showing pictures of Hove packed out today on their news pages. All very reminiscent of a story on these pages of a fine weekend in Italy two weeks ago.

Mrs F and I went for a walk from home today - not the nicest of walks but it was a route which we know well and has no chance of being close to other people. If we can do it .....

UK compulsory lock down is now inevitable I fear.

Reading some of the posts on here Gary we certainly haven't over here either and lock down is on the way I fear.
