I had a serious motorcycle accident in 1995 (drunk driver turned in front of me) and I was left with a paralysed right foot and a strange combination of numbness and hypersensitivity from the knee down due to having had a crushed sciatic nerve. The nerve specialists did a nerve conductivity test and told me I was unlikely to regain movement.

I was going to a sports massage specialist and he asked if he could try acupuncture with a TENS. The insurance company approved the treatment which involved acupuncture needles connected to an electric pulse machine. After a few treatments I suddenly got a movement in my big toe. It took another 24 hours before I saw the movement again but from that point on I slowly regained a good degree of movement. I still can't wiggle my toes much, constantly have a sort of pins and needles, and I a have a deficiency in fine movement control of my right foot. I can't really run but I do walk without a stick and I can drive and peddle a bike etc.

This is much better than the nerve specialists anticipated and I am convinced that the acupuncture with the TENS sort of kick-started the nerve connections or perhaps in some way reassigned whatever connections were still in place.

I wonder how many people drive Morgan’s following motorcycle accidents? I always liked Morgan’s but couldn’t justify the cost Until I lost my right leg following a bike accident. Hence I now drive an adapted plus 4.

I did try a standard plus 6 at our local dealer but had to take of my artificial leg to do it. I think it surprised a few people at the dealership 😃

I've been monitoring the gritting via Twitter during the winter and only taking the Mog out when the roads are sure to be clear of the stuff. Some of you seem to be undaunted though and are using your cars regardless drive so am I worrying too much? I have to take my car in for service later this week (about 30 miles away) and Essex Highways have resumed gritting every night due to the clear skies leading to low overnight temperatures.....irked

40 miles and full tank of fuel. Lovely day for a run into the deserted roads around the LIncs/Notts/Yorks border.

My local Shell garage has an anti bacterial wipe dispenser at the door. I used nitrile gloves to fill up to be on the safe side.

Who knows when we will be able to do this again.

Also took the Golf for the MOT. Restrictions on waiting and expected precautions. The thinking is that MOT's may have to be suspended for a while if garages close.

just waiting for the latest update from the P.M. - and I suspect it will be the start of 'lockdown' doh

So, with blue skies and a bit of sunshine this morning we decided on a (possibly last for a while ) 'responsible' trip to the coast (stay in car and stay away from people!)

This was up at Blyth....

As a bonus, the boats had been out from the fish quay at North Shields - so picked up a fresh crab for dinner smile

Stay safe everyone......

Ditto, every now and then I go to the local garage and use their pressure washer for an under squirt.

Your S1 looks super cool, James. In my view the best shape of Aeros! And so bravely designed. What I particularly like is the dashboard, the flat rear end and the headlights. Plus the racing genes of the chassis and the classic V8 engine without digital frills. A good decision to drive again today saying goodbye to driving for a while this way.

James great photos.
Following the rules I drove to Tescos to shop. It was delight on the Suffolk back roads.

Tom I use mine if it dry. Yes they grit the A14 but not the back roads. I use it whenever I can that is why I bought ti. I know other people have other views & respect that but I enjoy & need the grin.

It is a pleasure driving at the moment...
Quiet roads, Tesco comfortably busy, with a lot of deliberate social spacing, most things back in stock.
Gloves and wipes outside, but no one bothering to use them and no staff person suggesting the customers do so.
Few customers and no staff wearing gloves.

It is the phoney way, I feel.
