I must say we both self isolated with dry coughs, sore throats, metallic taste in the mouth & for me a loss of taste & smell.
We both only had slight chills & no fever. Was it COVID? We have no idea. Testing is what we need and urgently.

There is some research on the spread of the virus. As reported in the article I have linked below it has not yet had a peer review however it looks as though the conclusions are at least logical. It more or less means that movement should continue to be restricted until about 10 days or more after the last case is detected of persons with symptoms.

There is also research being done into the possible correlation between atmospheric pollution and the spread of CV19.

You can use Google Translator or Chrome to translate the article.

"these analyses seem to show that, in relation to the period 10-29 February, high concentrations above the PM10 limit in some provinces in northern Italy may have exerted a boost action, i.e. an impulse to the virulent spread of the epidemic in the Po Valley, which was not observed in other areas of Italy with cases of infection during the same period. In this regard, the case of Rome is emblematic, where the presence of contagion was already evident in the same days as in the Po Valley regions without triggering such a virulent phenomenon. In addition to the concentrations of atmospheric particulate matter, as a carrier of the virus, in some territorial areas environmental conditions may also have influenced the rate of viral inactivation. The working group is working on these issues to contribute to a deeper understanding of the phenomenon."

Hard to put a positive spin on this but I am thankful for my place in life, both by history and effort.

I was watching the gogglebox and a program came on where some contestants have to get from the north of South America to the south with a limited budget etc etc. As they go through Peru etc etc you see the larger cities. The density and conditions would indicate that the people there are going to see a whole different angle when this arrives, which sadly I expect it will. So many live on top of each other in tiny one room domiciles, hand to mouth, no insurance or state bailout. Hospitals on a different level. Access to transport, food and other things on a different level.

If you consider South Africa and the townships I can only hope the temperature will have a beneficial effect on this.

I am thankful for my place in life.

Heard from my daughter in Johannesburg today. South Africa is on lock down with military patrolling the streets.

Airports - agreed

Tube & Buses - how else are keyworkers going to get to work, particularly in cities? Maybe they can walk, on top of their 14hr day...

Or suspend Tube & Buses, and introduce a scheme to re-allocate SORNed Boomer toy-cars to the frontline keyworkers?

A lot of people travelled overseas for various reasons before the Foreign Office was offering any advice and are desperate to return home, I'm one and due to land boarders closing flying is often the only option. I am in Cambodia and at one stage I had four confirmed flight bookings with different airlines but due to restrictions on airport transit three of thoes have disappeared. My final booking is via Kuala Lumpur which has twice changed the flight date and now is scheduled for Monday 30th. If that dosn't happen I'm stuck with my wife one side of the world and me the other

I have been reading that the virus could had been circulating for some time before its explosion and medical experts believe that a lot more people have been exposed than previously thought. I was in Cambodia from early October until my return to the UK on 18th December. During this period Cambodia had thirteen daily flights from China including a daily flight from Wuhan. Christmas day l started to feel rough just tired with a few aching bones, by the next day a dry cough appeared. For the rest of the week i felt so lethargic l just lay on the sofa during the day and going to bed at eight without my Highland Park night cap which my wife had given me for Xmas. Its making me think now!
