Going out for a social drive is unacceptable no matter how you put a spin on it (excuse the pun). .
Why? In what way will I increase anyone's risk if I get into my car at home, drive 30 miles through the lanes and end up back at home?
What if you have an accident/breakdown/run over someone (on this unnecessary journey), you are then in contact with Police, Fire, Breakdown crews, members of the public etc. who might stop and help...and putting them all at risk??
That is why you cannot go out on a 30 mile jaunt....

Why should your wish to go for a pleasure drive, which is what people are doing no matter how they wrap up their self justification, tie up emergency resources and potentially hospital beds that should be used for dealing with (a) Covid 19 and (b) the usual run of strokes/heart attacks etc that are still running in the background anyway.
There’s no way I’d want to go to any hospital at present, there’s a huge chance of coming out with more than you went in with.

Spot on. Tbh I'm going to stay off this Forum for a while because of the entitled attitudes of a few people who still think the (now) clear 'Stay at Home' guidance doesn't or shouldn't apply to them.

I think it's very emphatic that MMC, with the news about the closure of the factory on their website is asking that we better leave our fun car in the garage because it can send the wrong signals to other people. MMC does this very insistently and promises us all that the first ride after the crisis will be as beautiful as the very first ride we all had. It is always possible to find rational reasons why one should still drive the Morgan, but I personally think it is the wrong emotional sign. And MMC says this rightly so that the brand is not experienced negatively.
