I spent weeks of the drought summer of '76 in an archaeological dig at the top of Breedon Hill. We had lunch in a pub in the village every day It was an all you can eat ploughman's for 25p a head (I kid you not) with local cheeses, home made pickles, and big jugs of bitter shandy!
Happy memories! Bredon Hill - just up the road from me. Was the pub the one with the tree in the middle of it? Three school pals and I spent part of the summer on a canal trip. Probably spent more time aground and clogging the engine's cooling intake than anything else!

Bredon Hill is in Worcestershire
Breedon Hill is in South Derbyshire (not far from the Donington circuit) and has a church at the top. Half the hill has now been eroded by a quarry.

Ah, memory playing tricks--I was as Breedon on the Hill in Leicestershire. I was also on the Grand Union and Stratford upon Avon Canals with a bunch of school friends that summer.
I remember Pong arriving at the pub my sixth form group went to, and everyone thinking it was so awesome.
