Thank you, I‘m happy to learn, that it‘s not my incapability laugh2
The nozzle upside down on the 12 o‘clock position worked perfectly for the Roadster.
I‘m confident, to find an adequate filling procedure for the +8 as well thumbs

Twin filler caps on my 1980 +8. Never a problem. Stick with older cars

The old +8 was so easy to fill...it enjoyed it's petrol.

Same here all three of my cars have been ok on that front, I must have been lucky as this one comes up quite frequently.

We who are fortunate enough to have much simpler designed Morgans minus cats, digital electronics and so much more to reduce emissions etc., best not get too cocky, for we may be first to face restrictions on our old Morgan`s usage in time. I think there have been some restrictions already in existence in some cities for a few years and where pre cat cars are not allowed to venture..?

Several Italian cities no longer allow the so called "Euro 0" cars to enter the centre of the cities and in times of high pollution they are banned in the whole region.

Agree, my 94 +8 fills OK but the gauge has never shown 100%, the pointer always indicates about 85% even though the tank is full; one of those quirks you get used too.

My 99 plus 8 is dreadfully slow to fill and slops back at you any where from half tank up , I was frustrated by this in the UK but thought maybe it was due to higher pump rates but if anything it's worse here, as it is a near sister to Rich's car I hope there may be a fix, it certainly behaves as if there is no breather fitted .

Yesterday, I went to a petrol station, for a new attempt to fill the tank. With a long cocktail spoon, I held the little spring loaded lid open, while pouring the fuel from above into the now open filling hole.

For an outside person, the procedure might look a bit weirded, especially, when you have to hold the hose between your knees, so is stays in place. But hey… at least, I managed to top up, within a reasonable time thumbs

Btw… no copyrights… shades

I had this problem constantly when I first got my Plus 4. I read about this solution, gave it a go and it's never been an issue since. I'm having a cup of tea in bed at the moment but if more detail is required I can always take a pic later. It's a little plate with holes in it that rotated I seem to remember. The holes should be at the top (or somewhere different from where they are now).
